The Ringing of the Bells

I bought Sam this alarm clock today.

It is dual purpose: we use the clock to show him when he will be allowed to do things like watch the Mario Bros. Super Show (as well as to show him when it is time to stop doing things like watching the Mario Bros. Super Show) and we are working on telling time. Obviously these are related.

When we got home I put batteries in the clock and showed him the alarm. HE LOVES IT. In fact, we had to banish him to the bedroom. Because he won’t turn it off.

Fun fact: Sam can’t say the L sound. Think about that.

I read and re-read this post trying to see what could be bad about not saying the L sound, except that he couldn’t say my name. And then it hit me. And I couldn’t stop laughing. I’m sorry. I shouldn’t laugh, but still…

I remember when Saren was little, she used to loooooove to pick up sticks at the park. Every time she saw one she’d shout “A stick mama, a stick!” Only she always said the st sound as d.

Hah, we still call clocks ‘coch’* occasionally in my family, because that’s what my brother called everything that was round.

    *rhymes with ‘loch’.
