Settle a bet for me.
If I make pumpkin pie, do I have to make dinner as well? I say no. Here’s my argument:
Pumpkin is a vegetable.
Sweetened condensed milk and eggs are protein.
Crust is a grain.
Ta-da! Complete meal! With whipped cream for dessert.
…Right?

It can’t be any worse than having Cocoa Pebbles for dinner.
Not that I would know anything about that.

In our house, one of us makes dessert and the other makes dinner!

Absolutely right. Food groups covered!

man, you’re good. Plus…there’s the thing like Ewokmama says. It really isn’t fair to expect the same person to do everything. It would be like asking the chef to do all the dishes at the end of the night.

I will ask the children in my class tomorrow, because we are currently studying food groups and healthy eating. I suspect they will agree with me. Pumpkin pie covers all food groups. Nom.

If I could eat pumpkin pie for every single meal, I would.
Actually, I probably wouldn’t, because I fear that might spoil the utter fall magic of pumpkin pie.
But if I could eat pumpkin pie for every single meal, I would.

I had apple streusel pie with vanilla ice cream for dinner tonight, so I say “yea”.
