Hey! I exist!

The problem with being the family photographer is that I am not in any of the photographs. Which makes me sad.

But with a shutterbug sister in town, this happened:

And this happened:

And this happened, too:

Of course those things might have happened anyway, but this time there is EVIDENCE!

    Nice pictures. You do exist!
By the way, that is exactly what I enjoy about being the family photographer. My hair always looks scary and my clothes are put together with no regard to fashion.

Trust me, I had to sort through a lot of pictures where I look fat and have bad hair and otherwise do not ever want anyone looking at me. But it is nice to have some evidence of the times when I look OK.

That last picture looks like a celebrity paparazzi shot. It’s adorable. And look! She’s got legs!

I suffer the same fate. It’s actually a strange thing when Tanja and I get a picture together. And don’t you guys look cute!

I feel your pain with the whole being the family photographer thing. DH never picks up the camera unless I ask him to….and then when he does, he gets horrible shots. What makes him think that pointing the camera upwards at my double chin in really poor lighting will make a good shot? I don’t get it.

I love these pics. You’re cute as a button.

Just yesterday I had to explain this exact same predicament to a long-lost friend who kindly requested that I send her a photo with me in it too. And I agree, the very few pictures that actually do exist of me in recent years are butt-ass ugly because my dear husband, while good at many things, is a terrible photographer.

    Awesome shots.
I found that the first year of Katie’s life, I was in most shots; then I took over taking her picture more often and got more confidence in the camera and suddenly I’m never in the shots. That’s why last year I made such a dedicated effort to do a picture a week of the two of us. But you’re right on outings and doing things that aren’t day-to-day I’m often missing. It’s always my husband pushing the swing, etc. So this year my goal is to remember to hand the camera off more often.
Mostly though I want to second the notion being a fan of the casual skirt. ADORABLE.

Yay, for full-on family pictures. I have the same issue… but no sister. :(

I never doubted you exist…but then, as a mom, I was missing from most pictures too!

Is it me, or do those houses look familiar? Ooooo!
