Photos I wish I’d taken of my toys.

I am constantly having spectacular ideas that I sit on for a week or a month or a year and then someone else goes and does whatever I was thinking of.

But I did not come up with either of these brilliant photo series.

  1. Storm Troopin’ — Star Wars action figures in a variety of charming set-ups. My favorite: The Love Letter. Via Mrs. Kennedy.
  2. Classics in Lego — famous photographs recreated with Lego Mini-Figs. (By great coincidence, all of my Lego Mini-Figs are Star Wars characters.) Via Wil Wheaton.

And in other news, my ankle is well enough that I was able to chase Sam down the sidewalk without any ill effect. But godDAMN is my ass ever sore where I landed.

Those are great! We have the best picture from last Christmas when my son posed his Star Wars Lego stormtroopers around the gingerbread house, attack style. Thinking about using it as our Christams card this year.

The Viet Cong guy about to be executed is still smiling! That’s either impressive, admirable, or deeply disturbing.

And to even think of doing the Robert Capa picture is some kind of twisted genius. Now they just need one of Dorothea Lange’s dust bowl migrants.
