Dunkin Donuts pulls ad for wrong reasons

So, Dunkin Donuts just pulled a television ad because it might be offensive. The reason? Rachael Ray, who stars in the ad, wears a scarf.

YES I AM SERIOUS. Apparently some fucking waste of breathe at Fox News thought it looked like a keffiyeh, the head scarf worn by ARAB MEN OMG.

Dear Michelle Malkin,

Get a fucking grip. Arabs are not evil. Rachael Ray might be, but not because of a goddamn scarf. You are a twit.

Oh my fucking christ. What’s next? Internment camps for anyone with a Mediterranean complexion? Can’t we focus on more important things, like getting Rachael Ray off television altogether?

Post-911 a woman who I was working with at the time said she was suddenly nervous about the security guard who worked the gate because he was “dark.” I looked at her and said “um, y’know, I’m dark, too.”

    Maybe that’s why we don’t talk anymore?/

Not a Terrorist, just EAstern European.

it’s funny, cuz if you wear a red and white keffiyeh, you are supposedly saying you a pro-palestine/anti-israel. Ok, mental note: no red & white “I’m the tablecloth at the pizza place” scarf.

But I had no idea the black and white “winter scarf” of the region was no verbotten. This is a bad time for me to seek out the olive drab and muted black shemagh I’ve always fancied, isn’t it? I bet it’ll be next.

Besides, I thought we already knew that Rachel Ray WAS a terrorist?

Are you kidding me? ARE YOU KIDDING ME? They listened to a woman who’s intent is to get ratings? My head just exploded.

Oh please! Rachel Ray is not running for president or anything so I could care less about her being a “terrorist sympathizer”… Plus Arab men wear the keffiyeh right, not just terrorist? Now anyone who wears a keffiyeh is identifying with terrorists? What about the Arab men who are not terrorists? Shesh!

There is so much wrong with pulling the ad, so much!

Oh, wait, wait. I thought you meant because they thought the scarf might be offensive to Muslims. I had completely forgotten that Muslims are themselves offensive.

Thanks for reminding me, Fox News.

I’m so jaded I’ll bet for all the increased publicity this keffiyeh kerfuffle has generated there’s a nice check coming to Malkin from Dunkin’ D’s corporate HQ.

I come up with all my best material in the shower. Just now: Rachael Ray is the Taliban to Nigella Lawson’s United Arab Emirates.

My work colleague here is muslim (totally British but his family are of asian origin) and he is very cool. His wife is from LA, and we often take the piss telling him we are gonna call the authorities and tell them he is a terrorist if he ever tries to have a week off work again. Our company would have fallen apart if everyone stopped talking to him after 9/11.
This is random and I didn’t have a point, sorry….

Incidentally, when I first heard about Rachael Ray and how everybody hates her, I just shrugged it off, because I figured I don’t really watch television, so I won’t ever have to learn what makes her so apparently annoying.

BUT. All of a sudden she was just … everywhere. If I did turn on the television, it was one of her commercials. If I pick up a magazine, if I walk in a store, on the bus, on the radio, now the internet! Everywhere! I feel like I can’t get away from her, and now I’m like, “Oh my God, Rachael Ray, now I know why everyone fucking hates you!!

I thought I was the only one who hates Rachel Ray! I had no idea I was part of a phenomenon. Huh.

    Another pointless comment:

If all terrorists are Muslim (which they aren’t btw) then all Muslims are terrorists…..

Or so it seems, if you are George Bush.

As someone else once said, Michelle Malkin would have herself arrested for crossing a border.
