Super-Villain Friday

So, Will has a super-power. Whenever he drives the car (not on a day trip with the family, but if he uses it for several days, say to get to and from work because Vera is in the shop), he fucks with the electrical system (or something) and the clock loses time. This only happens when Will drives the car, and it usually loses about half an hour all at once and then slowly loses more time until I reset the clock and take over driving the car again.

I was going to write about this and ask you all to help me figure out a reasonable, scientific explanation, but screw that. It is obvious that it is a super-power, and he is using it for evil. The evil of DRIVING ME INSANE.

So on this lovely Friday I would like you all to tell me: What is YOUR super-power, and do you use it for good or for evil? Please feel free to write about it here or at your own blog.

I have an uncanny ability to blog about a positive developmental phase the child is going through, only to have it turn into 5 steps backward as soon as I hit publish.

I call it my Super Foot In Mouth Power.

My super power is that no matter what time I tell my husband I will be home, I am always a 1/2 later.

Yeah, that should read “1/2 an hour”. Apparently, I have another super power of lameness.

    I have several.

Sadly none of them have enabled me to quit my day job as harmless depressive poet yet.

    Someday…

My super power is knowing where the best taco stand is, no matter where in this large City of L.A. I happen to be…from the Westside to the Eastside….from the South Bay to the North Valley and points beyond.

I have the great and powerful ability to drop anything breakable or spillable, plus I am very skilled at walking into walls.

Also, I apparently have the evil super power to mind-meld laptops and destroy them irreparably because yesterday morning, in an innocuous Starbucks, I sent a kill signal to my Macbook and blasted it dead (second laptop dead in 14 months) and may have lost all my data. Don’t let me near yours, Annika. Clearly, I am not sure how to control my powers yet. *sob*

I’m with will. My first thought was that Will must be approaching the speed of light as he drives, because time in the car has obviously been passing more slowly than our time.

I guess my superpower is reading pop-sci physics books?

My superpower is twofold. I have excellent parking karma (haha, I just typed carma)and always find a very good spot. But I always, without fail, choose the longest checkout line in stores. These powers have become inextricably linked in my mind and I am convinced they are connected, and I can’t have one without the other. So I’m glad it’s the way it is because I wouldn’t like to get through lines quickly but have to lug my purchases to the furthest spot in the lot.

Stuffing two mini-Battenberg cakes into my gob at once. Unfortunately said power does not involve doing this discreetly. *kaff*

I don’t have a super power: but my daughter makes anyone who lies down with her fall asleep. Parents. Grandparents. Uncles. Second-cousins, even.

I am SPARE CHANGE GIRL. my superpower?? i ALWAYS have spare change, and can ALWAYS make exact change.

I’m not sure yet whether this is a good or evil power, but in college, my roomates actually made me a cape, so it’s official.

This could explain why I’m always being hit up for aforementioned spare change by the denizens of San Francisco. I apparently just OOZE the aura of my power. ;)

I think mine has to be the newly developed awesome ability to always call my husband while he is in the bathroom. And I don’t mean, like, we’re sitting at home and I see him walk in and call to be a jerk. I mean, we are twenty miles away from each other and I call at varying times and 9 times out of 10, he is in the bathroom. That is not an exaggeration.
