I hate to write yet another post about my son’s sleep habits, but today really takes the cake.
After a 30 minute nap this morning, Sam was ready for another nap at about 1:30 (his second nap is usually around 3:00 or even 4:00) and slept for an additional 45 minutes or so. Around 5:30 he was super fussy so I put him down for another nap. Of course, he slept for a full hour that time. After his nap we had supper and played for a while, then did his bath and bed routine a little bit later than normal. I tried to nurse him to sleep, but it was an absolute no-go. I gave up and brought him upstairs where Will was playing videogames. An hour later Sam was cranky and tired and I brought him back to bed where he went to sleep without incident.
No, not without incident.
FOUR MINUTES after I crept out of bed, Will and I heard a shriek. I couldn’t believe that it was Sam, but he was sure it was and we rushed into the bedroom where we found a WIDE AWAKE baby exploring. He was pulling himself up on the headboard and grinning madly. Our cries of shock were met with giggles. GIGGLES.
So that is why I can’t blog today.

Silly baby :) (hope you get some sleep after all)
Noah will take these pitiful, wimpy naps unless I lie down with him. Then he’ll sleep contently for hours. This just means I have to nap too. That’s not all bad. :-)
Hope you get rested up. I know that sleep deprived feeling all too well. Take lots of naps!
Time to baby proof if you haven’t already!!
Ok, I want pictures!
Egads! We had a night like that last night with Gilli. Would not go down for any length of time, even after an extended session on the boo. Damn. Jan had to go on full baby-down duty while I finished painting. Two rooms, trimming and rolling all on my own. Looks damn good, too.
How this became a pat-myself-on-back post, I don’t know. ;)
